Brightree™ Announces Key Additions to Executive Leadership Team
DULUTH, GA -- March 3, 2005 -- Brightree, the market leader in Internet-based business tools for Home Medical Equipment (HME) suppliers, today announced several key additions to the company's executive leadership team.
“I have been diligently searching for an executive management team with the right mix of skills and experience to successfully lead Brightree into the future,” said Steve Elrod, founder and Executive Vice President of Brightree. “I could not be any more excited with the results of that search."
Dave Cormack was introduced today as President and CEO, a role that he has held in an interim capacity for the past three months. Cormack is a senior executive and entrepreneur with a successful international track record of building customer-centric organizations.
Also announced today was the appointment of Rick Chitty as Chairman of the company. Over the past 20 years, Chitty is best known as Founder and CEO of IQ Software, which he took public in 1992 and sold in 1998.
Elrod said, "Both Cormack and Chitty are software industry veterans who I have known for many years, and have been advising me for a number of months. Between them they have founded three very successful start-up companies and managed two public companies. Dave and Rick are not only bringing their expertise to Brightree, but are also personally investing in the Company to significantly enhance and improve our products and services."
Several other key personnel announcements were made as well. Elrod said, "In the few weeks that Dave and Rick have been here, they have wasted no time in assembling a world-class management team. They have recently appointed three outstanding individuals to the executive team."
Mike Durnwald was named as Chief Technology Officer. Durnwald has over 25 years of management and software development experience in the technology and healthcare markets.
Also, Mark Blount was announced as Vice President of Marketing. Blount has over 20 years of sales and marketing management experience with Fortune 100 corporations as well as start-up/medium-sized companies in the technology and software sectors.
Jorge Garzón was named as Director of Software Development. Garzón has extensive mission-critical applications software experience, managing both product development and data center operations.
