What You Need To Know About Brightree Printer Standards

Brightree utilizes the popular Adobe® Portable Document Format (PDF) and Microsoft Excel technologies to generate the output documents required to manage your business. These documents include delivery tickets, HCFA 1500 forms, CMNs and a wide variety of reports. When printing on 8.5" x 11" plain paper, virtually any ink jet or laser printer will work appropriately. For those documents that require front and back output when printing onto plain paper (DMERC CMNs), Brightree facilitates this as long as your printer is a duplex-capable (front and back) printer.

When placing characters onto a pre-printed (red) HCFA 1500 form, the issues of Adobe Acrobat as well as your printers' drivers and physical printing characteristics (minimum top of form, alignment) become important. We have found numerous printers that will allow for successful character placement onto the HCFA 1500 form by de-selecting the "scale to page" option and making sure printer drivers are updated. We will gladly send you a test file to determine your current printers' capability. We do recommend several HP laser printers out of the box for you to consider to utilize pre-printed HCFA 1500 FORMS:

• HP Laser 2300 Series (with or without duplex feature)

• HP Laser 4200 Series (with or without duplex feature)

To further facilitate easy printing with pre-printed HCFA 1500 forms, we recommend 1500 forms with large boxes on them. While not mandatory, these forms make it easier to produce successful claims. These forms (Form # WHCFA-1500-CS-90) can be ordered from:
